Campus News

Year End Activities

The campus is a flurry of activity as we near the end of the 2008-2009 school year. The seniors recently returned from their trip to Washington D. C., where they visited many historical sites and museums. In addition to this hands-on history lesson they also attended the Junior& Senior Banquet. The banquet, which is planned by the junior class for the senior class, concluded with a trip to the Lexington Opera House to see a production of The King and I. These memories will not be soon forgotten by our seniors

Coming to Christ

This semester has brought joy to our hearts as many of our students have accepted Jesus as their Savior. A few of our students have already been baptized, and another baptismal service has been planned for the near future. Please surround and uphold these new Christians with prayer as they embark on their journey with the Lord.  They will need much support in the days to come. We are so encouraged to see the harvest of our work and prayers. The Lord is good!

Evart FMC Work Team

The Evart Free Methodist Church from Evart, Michigan, recently brought a work team to Oakdale to serve over their spring break.  They brought with them the funds and muscle power necessary to put a new roof on the Odermann Boys' Dorm. The team worked very hard, and though they only expected to finish half of the roof, they managed to complete it all. We are so thankful for their service and dedication.

Spring Board Meeting

The Oakdale board met on campus the weekend of April 2-3. This group of outstanding individuals, which includes business leaders, medical doctors, attorneys, educators, Free Methodist pastors and former Free Methodist bishops, provides Godly leadership, vision and governance to Oakdale Christian Academy. At this meeting, Dr. Larry Linamen, who has been named the 11th president of Greenville College, came and gave a presentation on market positioning of Oakdale to new service constituencies.

Pray for Heather

Please pray for Heather, an Oakdale senior, who is battling stage-four cancer. She continues to undergo treatment at the Lexington Children's Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

In Memory

We were saddened recently to receive the news that Lillian (Stratford) Hawkins passed away. Lillian graduated from Oakdale Christian High School in 1963 and returned years later to work on staff at the school. Lillian is survived by her husband Donald Hawkins and her sister Kathy Collett. Before her death, Lillian made her home in Diamond, Michigan.
