The student’s experience at Oakdale Christian Academy is unique among boarding schools. Students and family members are immediately struck by our incredible student to staff ratio of 2:1. This translates into individual attention, discipleship, academic support, lasting relationships and a life changing experience.
At Oakdale, all staff and their families live on campus, creating a campus family for our students. We eat meals together, worship together, learn together and play together. Imagine eating dinner with your biology teacher, playing basketball with your pastor, or practicing for worship team with the president. This is Oakdale! Students are far from a sterile school experience in which teenagers are raising other teenagers.
Life at Oakdale is highly structured! Weekdays are filled with an invigorating academic day (8:00 - 4:00), an after-school job training program and a family-like dinner. Evenings find students in dorm study halls, meeting with teachers, visiting with friends or participating in the many extracurricular opportunities available to promote learning, faith development, personal interests, hobbies and athletics.
Weekends, too, are structured, but a bit more laid back. Students can sleep in on Saturday morning, before jumping into the day’s activities, which will certainly include time for fun with friends and social interaction, as well as an opportunity for more practical pursuits such as dorm cleaning. Sundays are our campus day of rest. We worship together in the morning, enjoy a delicious noon meal together and then enjoy some well deserved rest and relaxation. Some find this curled up on their bed with a good book, others on the basketball court with some friends or on the phone catching up with friends and family at home.
